As title

its the sachs shock....can you service it yaself or is it a dealer send away job :dunno

Well its posible, but I dont know many people(well no one :D) who can repressurize the shock with gas at home.

It doesnt have to be send to an aprilia dealer, you can send it to a suspension company.

righto....will send it off when winter really sets in

any recomendations........or will any dealer do it

Honesty is always the best policy and I would advise you to save the service money and put it towards a replacement shock such as an Ohlins or WP.

If your lucky you can collect an Ohlins for less than £200 in pretty good condition.

I'm not 100% sure the Sachs rear shock can be serviced due to the non availability of parts though i may be wrong.. I would speak to KAIS , Maxton or KTECH to see if it can be done.

I posted a response from Maxton a few days ago, they can do a job on the forks, but they recommennd a new shock.

You will do well to get an Ohlins for less than £200 though

Although, trawling ebay perhaps not!

Mine went for £140 on the bay when I sold it so it can be done..... Or I was just unlucky!

ones i have watched lately have gone for over £300 but you can always drop lucky on one

There's a couple of new Ohlins for sale on Fleabay at the moment. £449 and £429 respectively.

Tempted but a bit rich for me. Actually, that's not strictly true. They are a bit rich for my missus:eek:

You could always buy a SH Sachs unit off fleabay as these come up quite frequently.
