Not that I've decided to but can a rear seat be put on a 2000 rsvr ? Is the subframe different ? Will rsv rear sets bolt on? Thank you in advance for your input.

The subframes are different, you need to fit a dual seat subframe, any one from 99-03 should fit (I think)

to check which you have lift the rear pod..dual seat frame goes right back under the lock ...single stops just behind riders seat....dual will have mounting holes for lefthand peg...single does not...unless someone has a twin system and installed fixings

For help :)

if you did want to do it. you might be able to find someone that wants to swap. be careful though, when it comes to selling the bike unless all the parts are 100 per cent original to that model some people on here will assume its stolen

I have never met you but it's obvious you are the stereotypical southern ****, the only thing on the bike in question that was 03 was the frame.
Everyone but you agreed it looked dodgy, the bike by chance wouldn't have had something to do with you would it?
And I shoud be at work not school but I have got your mrs around sorting her out

nothing to do with me and didn't really look at the ad. my point was missed so i won't try making it again. don't take things at face value, i lived in the north for many years, i don't think living in essex makes me a southerner, and coating off southerners isn't really helping to make your argument is it? Not sure why you brought my missus in to it but your post does tend to indicate a low iq i'm sure she'd like a bit of rough

If you didn't look at the ad, why were you even responding to the posts and still bringing it up.
The only point you made was that some people like to update their bikes, while completely missing the fact that if it was an 03 everything had been downgraded to 99 spec.
As for making an arguement, I've not got one to make.
But I have to accept the fact that there are people that use internet forums as a way of making themselves out to be more than what they really are, not sure what your trying to be.
Anyway got stuff to do.

And as for my post indicating low IQ I have just had a look at some of yours, talk about retarded. Best way to see if your forks are leaking is to see if they are wet with fork oil

Apologies to rsvrksw, for dragging his post down

if you had read the post you would see that i knew that, but then a respected dealer told me they weren't leaking. not sure why you're getting so personal, now you're stalking me? just cos i had an opinion that was different to yours? ever heard of Hitler?

hi i've been told otherwise, but i'm pretty certain that on the 2000 model the rear shock on the R was only designed for one persons weight...i know on the later models they went to a two seater so it wasnt a problem, like i said not 100% sure, but may make your handling a bit dodgy...?

( sorry southern **** poking his nose in..lol) :nana

Wow! Thanks for all the info and the entertainment. Thanks redratbike for the tips.

the shock changed on later bikes as the ride was too harsh, they altered the triangles and dog bone, put a lighter spring on and increased the stroke.
nothing to do with pillion or solo riding.
