Long time reader with a snag on my rear brake, failed MOT and garage informed me, they have tried to bleed it!!

They said that i need to overhaul rear master cylinder to get the brake working!??!?!?! I can't see any leakage! is their an spares kit for the cylinder???

or is there a particular way in which to Bleed the rear brake to get it performing again??:confused

Big time fan of the ZONE.:thumbup:biggrin

Seen the posting by Badger I'll try that and see how i get on.........

I use a "mityvac" for bleeding the rear brake,It works well ,no air in the system and a great working rear brake.

you can get a seal kit from aprilia performance

when you bleed it remove the caliper and raise it so the bleed nipple is at the highest point so air is expelled (put a old pad or something between the pads so they dont close up when bleeding)

it may be your caliper is seized too so not working properly so a quick strip and service may be needed if that's in your can do rep.

i put new brembo on mine it works but dont use it keepmeaning to get rearsets but something elsecomes up my scooter brakes are better than the mille rear the front are top notch tho

if you ride with the rear brake on for a few seconds so the pads get hot and used they work fine

trouble with rears is they get so little use so pads get dirty and stay cold.

Some can be bled, others can't.
If you are unlucky enough to be plagued with an unbleedable one, the m/c needs relocating OFF the engine. It's the only perfect fix.

Thanks to people that posted on this issue... It passed its MOT. Back brake still feels a little spongy but it works!!
