hey thanks viper , i was on that thread but didnt know if the brake cylinder would benifit from using it . should i do the brake pipes as well do you think?

If you have relocated the master cylinder like "wot" I have then apparently all you need to do is wrap the rear manifold downpipe with sheilding stuff. I am not sure if you have not re-located the cylinder if it makes a great deal of difference, in any case as standard most rear brakes are poor, mine is much much better now its on the Gilles rearset, there seems to be more pressure at the wheel now.........I'll keep you posted, if the stuff arrives tomorrow I'll be doing it after I put a new 2CT on the back as the rear is down to the wear inicators............

You can tell Spring is nearly here, people are fettling their bikes again....Joy:doug

"fettling" lol you sound like your from my neck of the woods viper :biggrin ,my master cylinder is still standard i just thought it might benifit from some shielding ? cant afford nice rearsets yet :drool

Born and raised in Rugby (Warwickshire) I am afraid...not from up North like you.......

Live in Wiltshire now, work in Oxfordshire and the parent lives in Northamptonshire, the missus is from Nottinghamshire...................make what you want from that conundrum

rugby eh did a course in rugby once ,not many pubs though lol of course i was there for the knowledge and not just beer haha

I wouldn't wrap the actual cylinder mate, it will act as a jacket and retain the heat.

All you need is the heat deflector plate and to ride faster to get the airflow going across the surface of the cylinder.

You could wrap the rear pipe to stop heat transference but if you do that I would advise you to do the front too.

got a heat shield on mine......bled propper its fine for thousands of miles
