Rear caliper pistons

T

I think I have bought the worst looked after RSV in history, everything is covered in rust/scratches/dings etc. However, I will try and prevail. Today I decided to change the rear brake pads as they were rusted beyond recognition. I took said pads out, the the bloody piston on one side has a hole in the middle of it from rusting away! Anyone know where I can get new pistons from?

Sorry to hear this mate, mine was pretty much the same.

Mine had a crack in it and it was allowing fluid to weep past and drip on to my tyre/wheel.

Couldn't find anyone that did a piston/seal kit, Garvey bailed me out with an old caliper he had laying around.

They do appear on FleaBay quite often, usually around £25.

If it's not leaking then don't worry too much, just pop it out and make sure it's not cracked like mine was.

They are all about £50 on there at the mo, any other aprilia models use the same caliper? It doesnt leak, but I'm afraid the piston might break even more if I use the back brake, which I do under heavy braking. Anyone got a spare they wanna flog cheap to a poor and really annoyed at aprilia/old owners man???
