Rear Brembo Brake Pistons Crumbled!

A lousy Sunday in the garage.

Refitting Ohlins shock after PDQ rebuild prior to track day on Saturday and I thought I'd replace the rear pads as they were looking a little tired. Only one piston was moving but both pads were welded to the pads...no I didn't change them last time, done for MOT at a local KTM dealer last year. When I pulled the pad off the non-moving piston it lifted the centre of the piston away with it! The other one was no better and the piston cown crumbled as I tried to move it. I have now split the caliper and am in desperate need of new pistons and seals.

A search has plenty of tips for KTM parts for the fronts (mine are radial 4 pad calipers) but I can't find any info on the rear.

I have gleaned from Google that KTM are the only UK dealers that will supply spares for Brembo calipers due to Aprilia and Ducati, etc unwilling to sign off on legal indemnity for brake rebuilds so my questions are:

1. What is the Brembo caliper designation for the rear RSVR brake (mines an '03)? They are 32mm pistons, obviously twin piston in the rear.
2. Any idea what other bikes, especially KTM, use this caliper, so's I can cross refer?
3. How the feck do you get a rusted in piston out of the caliper if you don't have compressed air?
4. Am I better off just going for a new caliper?

Questions, questions...I'd appreciate any help.

Cheers

If it helps I have a rear caliper off an 03 in very good condition, looking for £45 inc delivery.

3. How the feck do you get a rusted in piston out of the caliper if you don't have compressed air? splash some brake fluid around the edges and let it seep in, or wd40 it to death.. is it not still attached to the brake line so you can work the lever til it pops out?
4. Am I better off just going for a new caliper? well one of the pistons broke a small hole in it on mine to but after ripping the whole thing apart i concluded its just a hollow space cover that helps spread the pressure evenly on the brake pads, should i have replaced mine lol?? few thousand miles riding and it aint seized up or anything yet...

Hope its helpful :thumbup

Thanks Wolf. Soaked them in brake fluid for a few hours then WD40 for another 4, nothing happening.
Went to KTM dealer today and discovered that the Brembo rear caliper on mine is the same as the current RC8, only the Katoom's is in a matt black finish. If it's any help for anyone in the future the KTM parts are:

Pistons 69013083000 £18.50 each
Seals 69013081000 at £6.50 per piston.

Prices are approx and inc VAT but unfortunately unavailable until 20 Oct where I am.

Tash what condition is your rear caliper in, especially the pistons?!

Cheers
