hi there i have an 02 millie but having heaps of bother trying to get brake i have tried to bleed it but still no use . if i had any hair left i would be pulling it out :rant

you need to unbolt the rear caliper and hold it so the bleed nipple is up as high as possible, bleed it and the tilt the caliper and bleed again........tie wrap the brake lever down over night or longer if you can, this helps LOADS

Having just encountered problems with my clutch, and a back brake that's virtually ineffective (but, being a track-only bike, I never use it), I'm about to give it a try. (IMHO the author sounds like he knows what he's talking about - what better recommendation than that?)

I had to do this when mine failed its MOT last week. Its still **** but it passed. You need to snip the cable tie that holds the speed sensor cable and brake pipe, then take the two bolts (7mm) out of the cable shroud (under the swing arm) this will give you much more slack on the pipe so you can get the caliper as high as poss. Hope this helps :thumbup

I have had no end of grief from trying to bleed my rear brake, and had gone through 2 bottles of fluid trying, then after reading through 14 pages of previous posts, so yesterday, i undid the caliper, and bolted it to the exhaust hanger mounting hole, and wedged the brake pedal with a piece of wood that held the pedal down all the way. Came back to it this afternoon, and i have a awesome rear brake again.:biggrin :biggrin :biggrin
