Rear brake binding.

I am well aware of all the posts about problems people have had with the rear brake on their bikes. Sorry to post another, but here goes.
I purchased my 2005 RSVR in August from a dealer. The back brake wasn't particularly clever then and while the bike was still under warranty they had it back to bleed the system. That was about 3 weeks ago. I have only ridden the bike back from the dealers (about 2 miles) until today.
I went out on the bike today but after travelling about 5 miles had to stop as the back brake had started to bind. After stopping I was unable to push the bike when in neutral.
Initially I arranged recovery home, but after waiting about 20 mins the disc had cooled and the brake freed off. I made my own way home but had to stop a further two times because of the same thing happening.
Has this happened to anyone else? What is the cause? How is it fixed? For what it's worth I am not a big user of the back brake and as best as I can recall I only touched the back brake pedal briefly once today.
Any suggestions/theories welcome.

As said not enough free play on the rear pedal. The exhaust heats up the brake fluid with no room to expand because of the lack of free play the back brake starts to be applied, this heats up the fluid even more & it gets worse & worse until the wheel locks. Not only dangerous it can cook your caliper & disc.

If your hardly use the back brake why not remove the brake fluid to the minimum level.when it warms up the fluid will be able to expand and not activate the brake:puke

Pedal free play is required ...search for posts on how much...common issue

Update. Picked the bike up from the dealer at the weekend. Told me they had adjusted the free play and all was well. Rode the bike home without any issues, but will need to do more miles on it before I am fully convinced.

Further up date. Have now put a few more miles on the bike and all appears well. Thanks for the advice.
