Rear brake and tail LED lights

Has anyone tried replacing their rear lights for an LED unit and if so, what were they like in terms of brightness in sunlight?

I'm thinking of getting one of the following, but someone at work mentioned he was behind someone in sunlight and couldn't see his LED brake lights when he was using them (not sure what bike it was he was behind):

Bike It Integrated LED Tail Light suitable for a Aprilia RSV-R Mille 1000 (2002)

I have this exact light fitted to mine, and your work colleague is right!! In very bright sunlight visibility isn't the best but are fine most of the time. Haven't had any complaints from my mates on ride outs to be honest. Think it makes a big difference depending on what angle your looking at it from - ie, standing up behind the bike its pretty rubbish, if you lower yourself down a bit it becomes bright, so from a drivers seat in a car sort of height it seems ok. Hope that makes sense !

Thanks, I'll take that into consideration.

How worthwhile is the mod in terms of looks; an improvement over standard? I'm not sure how I feel about the standard ' Flash Gordon ray-gun' look as others have described it :)

Personally I think it makes the rear end look sooooo much better ! I trimmed the standard number plate bracket holders flush to the under tray and put a little tail on and I think it looks pretty good. Like everything its each to their own with things like this.
