hiya people, I have an 04 Mille and have a problem with the back brake. I have tried bleeding it and adjusting it pads are fine. Here is my problem, bike parked up off and the brake works fine, start it up and take her down the road and it just disappears. park up and 10 mins later you have a brake until i ride off again. any ideas????

Hi m8 when you bled it did you take the caliper off and turn it upside down to bleed whilst having something in between the pads ?????

Later models use a heat shield around the brake master...helps a bit but as said you need to remove the brake caliper ..also i found that air can get trapped at the master itself so be sure that its sitting in such a way that the air can get through it whilst bleeding it.....reverse bleeding works well

nice one german ill be attempting it tomorrow, whats the best thing to use as a spacer for the calipers?

A block of wood or wooden wedge between pads, or use a vacume bleeder if you or yer mates have one, thats what i use, dont have to take anything off or apart, works well for me, nice firm pedal , makes a pain job easier.

you need to get a shiney set of rearsets(it relocates the master cylinder) i was forever bleeding my rear brake,i aint blead them since i fitted them look trick too

Mine kept failing its mot cos of poor back brake, bled it times.Fix in the end was to make a heat shield for the master cylinder, also bought some exhaust bandage and wrapped the pipe that runs next to it,works fine now. Seems that the fluid is boiling in the master, aparently you can put dot5.1 in and this will cure it as it has a higher boiling point.
