got a rattle on my bike, been there for ages its a very light noise which sounds like it is coming from the top near the fairing top,i thought it was from the ign barrel so i put spray grease in it but no better it only comes in around 5000-6500rpm ,i was going to stip the bike today but a nail in the tyre decieded to take up all my day still got to clean the calipers and refit tommorrow .sounds like a spring or thin metal bracket vibrating .i have had all the top fairing off when i did the headbearings so i presume all is tight up top any ideas

From what you say, it sounds like somethings just come loose so it's nowt serious like engine etc. Try putting it on the stand with the engine running and turn the fast idle up so that it gets to an engine speed where the rattle kicks in. Then just go round the area where the noise is coming from and grip it with your hand until you find it.

Check the cover above the speed /underneath the screen if its carbon fibre had this come loose after the last Drags sounded real bad thought I had broken somthing just need to retighten the bolts .... also check the steering damper washers haven't worn out & the damper mounts isn't metal to metal

Does it still rattle staionary or just on the road, if its just on the road it could be the running gear,also sorry but stating the obvious here, its not the keys rattling on keyring or loose mirrors, I had a rattle on my Honda, turned out to be a mirror.

Try pinch bolts on the forks/clip ons. Also the little bolts that set the angle for the clip ons. I forgot to tighten these fully once and they made a rattle
i did think it might be the keys so i took all the stuff off to leave just the ign key still there i have put spray grease in the lock to try and rule it out i have not tried to get it to rattle by just revving it will try it next weekend only does it at 5-6000rpm in any gear so i think its to do with the resonance of the engine at this rpm i will find it or go mad
