Radiator fans cutting in early?

just went for a quick 2up ride to show my bro the new bike, we were out for about ten minutes and made my way back home. We got off the bike and left it running for a minute, the temp rose to 81degrees and the fans cut in.

This is early i know because when I picked the bike up I got stuck in a jam and was stopped on the bike for a few minutes, the temp rose to 91degrees and then the fans cut in.

Has anyone heard of this happening or any suggestions?

Mine come in at 95 deg., normal running temp being around 75 deg..
Don`t turn engine off when they are still running ................... seconds.

i have 07 T and my fans cut in at 97 checked the hand book and thats when they meant to cut in,,,,,,,either you thermistat or temp sensor are faulty just a sugestion on my part dont take it as gospel

I was wondering when they should cut in,Was in traffic on a hot day,saw 97 and the fans hadn't started was starting to panic!

so do you reckon I'm getting a false temp reading on the dash or are the fans cutting in earlier than they should? Not technical at all as you can probably guess! basically is this something I need to look into?:rolleyes

am no expert but fan coming on early is not as bad as coming on late but have it looked to be on the safe side,,,,
