darren smith

is it possible to fit later radial forks to a 2002 tuono r (ohlins model)? would i need the yokes too?
would the non radial discs fit?
would the non radial front wheel fit?

Yes its possible... but you will need the matching 51mm ohlins yokes too. the front wheel will not fit as the radial ohlins are 10mm closer together so you will have to get a front wheel from a radial model bike. The discs will fit but I believe there might be clearence issue around the disc bolt heads.

as far as i know

the radials will fit into your ohlins yolks no problems
Discs will be fine
Yep you can use a non radial wheel, just buy some disc spacers from rsvr.net

02 Tuono

The Tuono was launched in 2003 and was based on the last shaped Mille.
So if your bike is a 2002 Tuono it has probably been a Mille in a previous life but the only difference with the 03R was that it had radial brakes.
As said the only difference between radial and non radial is that you need spacers.
I still think Aprilia could have made it less confusing on the naming of the models.
It confuses the hell out of most suppliers who get RSV (mille) RSVR (Mille) RSVR (04 onwards) and RSVR factory all messed up in a big melting pot.
Pete (glad to be a Mille owner) :doug

thanks for all the advice, sounds like a bit of a pita to change over tbh.
the tuono was launched in 2002 as a limited run with carbon bodywork, gold frame, oz wheels, ohlins suspension etc. the 'standard' model was then launched in 2003, then the racing was launched after that.
the 02 model was a limited run of bikes priced at £14000
this is the one i've got. (not from new though. i ain't a millionaire)
speaking of confusion insuring the tuono etc is a nightmare due to all the models.

cheers guys:thumbup
