Sorry about this, done a search, but can`t find what I`m looking for. :dunno

Does anyone know what year the RSVR changed to radial brakes, or is it just Factory models that are fitted with radials ?

I know what they are ( as opposed to standard calipers, as my `04 plate has standards on ), but I`m just wondering what year they changed, etc....?

the 2003 rsvr's changed to radials, i'm not sure when the new shape rsvr's changed.

My 2003 has them and they do look the nuts

Like Gaz says late model 03 RSVR's and I think late model 04 and deffo 05 gen II RSVR's got the showa radial brake setup. 04 Factory onwards got the radials.

I would quite like to fit some to my 2000 mille r,but i s'pose they will be mega bucks i'll have to look on flea bay see what's there....:devious

It won't be cheap matey as you say, you'll need the forks, calipers and spacers for the discs (not sure if the yoke from the earlier RSVR will work??).

And you'd need to space your discs out. The radials are something like 1.5mm wider. I fitted a non radial wheel in the front of mine for a time.

To give you an idea of what prices you are talking about to fit radials, I was going to break my edwards (still might)

Ohlins forks (radial brakes) ~ £500
Yokes ~ £150
radial calipers ~£100
Carbon front hugger to fit forks ~£60

so even if I sold the parts cheaply like i've priced them above your still talking £800 plus

Yep them Radials look the mutts but are they any better than Std ?

They should be, but the brakes on My RSV were the best of any bike ever, and are better than the radials on my ZX10

depends what you compaire them to.

My zx7 has full on narrow track superbike brakes with machined calipers, and i've yet to find any brakes that are anywhere near as good. Yet they aren't radial.

I guess Rossi could use to nth degree extra rigidity of the radials but I would think for the rest of us it's just another 1" of swinging ****.

If I ever need the extra bite of the radials over the Goldlines it will be 'cos I've got something so badly wrong that the brakes will be the least of my problems.

Hmm, now about that extra inch ??? :devious:devious
