Rad hose clamps

Is there a way to remove these without the proper tool as i want to replace
them with some stainless steel clips as I've got a bit of a dribble
And any idea the best size to buy

If you are careful you can open them with basic tools, screwdrivers & pliers.

Make sure you dont damage the hose though.

Looking on line the proper tool looks just like a Tile nipper I have somewhere in the house once i find it I'll give it a bash

I tried everything to cure my weeping rad clips. It turned out to be a blockage in the expansion tank hose. Pressure found the weekest point in the system, which is always the crappy rod clips. Perfect now tho
 
changed mine with help from a rico post took it out sort spin and was still leaking they all needed tweaking up a bit, been out again all ok now
 
did u do the one lurkin behind the coolant expansion bottle...been known tae weep as weel. ( mine did!)
 
How you doing Zippy ? I was once told the bigger the problem the bigger the hammer ,I don't think that will work on Rotax V Twins so please ignore this reply ,. Yes I am drunk.:beerchug
 
just followed the Rico guide and changed all mine to stainless Jubilee clips, the one behind the oilotank was a pain but the rest were straight forward. the OEM clips came off a lot easier than expected.
 
aye Brookie min....says a lot aboot how ***** they Ape clips are wi how easy the ping aff.
 
did mine last night cheers Rico fir the guide was braw man, dead easy..even fir a tube like me.. coudnae believe how easy the old ones pinged aff!!!
