R.I.P Marco

RIP Marco. Very sad day. MotoGP wont be the same without you. Ride free dude.

The whole motorcycling world lost a future champion today but tomorrow every single tabloid will have "headlines" of city beating utd.
Keep biking boys

Absolutely gutted - what a terrible loss for everyone. Very very sorry for his family - a wonderful character. still cant believe it..

Couldn't believe it while I was watching this morning, kept thinking that he'd be okay but when you see the replays there was no way he could have survived that especially with his lid coming off!!! Not sure how Edwards and Rossi are going to cope with it I'm sure there both going to be going through the what ifs ???

RIP Marco - you'll be missed :( :(

Have always liked watching him, even the missus liked watching him, proper chap and it wont be the same without him, i hope his loved ones cope ok also that edwards carries on racing and speaking his mind.R.I.P.

I cant believe it, so gutted, he was a proper racer, a real character not a spoilt brat like some. RIP super sic.

Horrific vision - we'll miss Super Sic. Thoughts are with his family and friends, and with Colin and Vale, too.

Terribly sad day. Terrible. We watched Marco (or 'Fully Sic' as the aussie commentators named him) at Phillip Island last weekend and It has sent a hollow feeling through us, deeply. We have decided that we will re-name "MG" corner "Simoncelli Corner" from now on in honour of this true, courageous, electric racer. RIP ol' mate.

I don't usually feel particulary emotional when I hear about the passing of celebrities/sports people or anybody else I don't know, but I am genuinely saddened about the loss of Marco Simoncelli. I didn't see the live coverage but found out what happened a few hours later from a news flash on the internet and I was left open-mouthed in shock for several minutes as I digested the words. I honestly feel like someone I knew has died.

I have barely been able to get thoughts of him out of my head since I heard of the accident and I'm sure that the final race of the season in Valencia will be incredibly emotional for everyone involved, not to mention for anybody with motorcycling in their blood. I can't even imagine what must be going the minds of Colin and Valentino after this but I really hope they learn not to blame themselves for what has happened.

In spite of all the pit lane politics and talk from critics of Moto GP being "boring", these racers are our modern-day gladiators who risk their lives for our entertainment and we must never forget the dangers, even though many of them often simply walk away after a crash.

Marco was an incredible motorcycle racer who could so easily have been destined for greater things. I feel for his family, his friends, his team and anyone else who knew him. He will be missed.

Ciao Marco.

CrazyG - I feel exactly the same mate, I cant get this out of my head this week at all..

I hope his family can find some sort of comfort in the way the whole world has reacted to the sad news and see how he had touched so many people across the world, I hope he had some idea of how popular he was.......

He was taken way too young, but lived his life to the maximum and always with a big smile on his face.

He will be badly missed for a long long time and never forgotten!

Crazy G-Completely agree,I still can't believe he is dead,I know people die at the TT and road races but circuit racing just seems safe, watching the crash made me feel sick and I can't seem to get the image out of my head, RIP Marco.

A truly talented rider with a lot of character and will be missed for a long time coming . I expect motorcyclists across the world will feel for his family and probably his friends as well . Keep the throttle pinned Marco wherever you may be .
