Hi all,I've bought myself a set of upper R&G crash protectors for an upcoming trackday.I'm a bit surprised at the size of the hole that has to be cut out of the fairing,I was under the impression that only a small circular hole had to be drilled through the airscoop but when I went to fit them it looks like the teardrop shaped inner mounting bracket is going to be coming through the carbon panel,I have to admit I chickened out of butchering my lovely(expensive) panel!Have any of you guys fitted them?if so what do they look like when fitted,if someone could post some closeup pics that would be great,I looked on R&Gs website but the pics weren't great.

you could try the harris ones instead mate, you only need to cut a small oval dent, rather than a large hole.either way you will need to cut the panel.
Look in my garage and you will see the harris upper and R&G lowers and rhinomoto front and back axle sliders too(get some-they save yer wheels, forks and swingarms in a lowside...I know I tested them out..Harris were stronger than R&G with regard to the bracket)
cheers CK

i use R&G's to protect a 65000 euro bike... and wouldn't use ANYTHING else.. top stuff, and i won't even (didn't even) hesitate to drill the CF panels... i know how good they are..

I have the upper R&G's. Southern cross did mine. The cut a fair old bit out so you don't have to keep undoing the R&G's to get the panel off, but it isn't too noticable.
