Just thought I'd post a quick update on where I am with my bike and what if any difference any of the modifications have made.
It came with the Akro's, map 2 and a 15T front sprocket.
First thing on the list was a pair of new tyres so I went for Metzler M5's in 190/55 on the rear.
Excellent tyre plenty of grip in the dry and wet, more than up for road riding not sure they're up to a full blown trackday though but all in all a great road tyre and when they're up for changing I'll be putting them on again.
Next up was the rear shock, having had the suspension set up it was a vast improvement but that back end was just not supple enough and coming off GSXRs it felt really harsh and didn't ride the bumps at all well.
Resolution was a second hand RSV shock from good old eBay fitted that and had it set up.
What can I say much much better the back end actually rides over the bumps rather than trying to smack you in the arse.
Now it was riding properly and handling like it should it was time to sort out the engine.
It had full service history when I picked it up so I had no fear of it blowing up, so power commander and piper cross filter went on along with a full whistle and bell service.
This along with the 42T has transformed the bike it rides like a proper sports bike now pulling cleanly all the way up to the limiter no surging no chugging and apart from top speed regularly shows power rangers a clean pair of heels.
Still struggling with the wheelies though can't get much more than 130 out of it 4th and 5th gear needs a lot of throttle to keep it up, so to carry the distance I just leave it in 3rd and sit there.
So after 14 months of ownership its where I want it to be and without spending a massive amount too.
