Eh up
Is there a cheep mod for a quick action throttle for the R. Some thing like the Hairy Rs clip. About the only thing i can fault my new baby on is the amount of twist you need to get things going

Cheers in advance

With the amount of grunt these bikes have personally I prefer the sensitivity of more throttle movement. A quick action throttle on the road is probably going to be a liability, one little twitch and loads of fuel is dumped in the engine!

Change the gearing to 15/42, you'll be shocked at how the bike comes alive with instant drive throughout the rev range :thumbup

Standard gearing on yours my good man is...16/40...

I have dropped to 15 front on mine which made a difference but i have also got a shiney gold rear with 42 teeth, it may be too much but will let ya know when fitted possibly next weekend...:doug

I fancy a quick action too, anyone know anything that works?

Its not the sensitivity of it, its having to wind to full throttle and then move the hand around the grip to get the last bit open. I really struggle with std throttles on track

Bear, I'm running 15/42 and its great :devious:thumbup You loose at thew top end, but who does 170 on these roads :dunno

No. However ive got a second hand throttle that im gona try and adapt when the Mrs stops giving me DIY to do

Take a google at G2 THROTTLE CAMS, i know they did one for the SXV550 and you were able to get different stages of twist.

take the slack out of yer throttle cables and go 16/44 or 15/42 as been said, then decide if you want a QA throttle.
cheers

i've already done that just can't get full throttle in 1 go, had the same problem on my gixxer but you can get a plastic clip for about £20 from hairy rs that fixes it. sadly not not available for the rsv though.

thanks for the suggestion though.

I didn't realise you knew were the throttle was Bear :dunno, you are trying to twist the right hand grip aren't you :devious, I'll have to have a look next time I overtake you :doug

i have a euro racing quick action throttle, not cheap at 100 quid but does the job well. you get three different cams with it to alter the action. i use the most severe and have a sixth of a turn of throttle to fully open. i have also made one which i prefer for track use but cant fit the extra width on the bars with the kill switch in place. i used a magura side pull throttle used on off road bikes and made a cable to suit using a universal venhill cable. i done away with the return cable. works superbly but need to relocate kill switch/start button to other bar! i run 15/41 and id say the bike picks up pretty well but looses about 15 mph top end.
