Hello.

My name is Gil and i am from Portugal.

I own a 2001 Aprilia RSV mille R along side other bikes, but the aprilia in particular as generated some questions....
The first one was as soon as i bought it. The mecanic that assists all my bike assisted the bike for standart oil and filter change. He is very professional but had little experience with dry slump engines on bikes. He overfilled the engine, and without me realizing, i picked up the bike and drove around 20 Km (25 minutes or so) in traffic at a slow pace, almost never revving above 6000 Rpm. Only when i arrived home, putting the bike in the paddock stand, i realised the oil has way over max, beeing at the top of the oil tank. After the bike cooled down it was still over max. in the trip i did not notice diferent behaviour in the engine or noticed any smoke. After removing the excess oil and carrefuly adjusting oil level, i must have taken out about 400ml of oil (a bit less that half a liter). I also checked the airbox, but asside some oil moisture and drips, no "live oil". All along the process of setting the oil level there as no smoke.
Should i assume that the small amount of time the engine ran, and the lack of oil in the airbox that there as no damage? is 400ml a big problem? i see posts on overfill problem, but the amount of oil that as taken out is never mencioned.....
I am concerned about this, and made my mecanic concerned as well, altough is experience in general says it should be ok.

In another field, i have another questions that i need some help.
My front brakes (the 4 brake pads BREMBO), even with the brake lever off, makes some amount of fricyion in the disks, that i do not know if its normal. If i spin the wheel in a paddock stand, i will only get about a 3/4 of a turn of the wheel before it stops. Is this normal? all my other bikes spin more before stopping. I am affraid there is some problem. The pads are in the last third of there live, and i have already thought that he fact the pistons are so far out that they dont retract as well as they should.

Another question i have is the Ideal idle regulation? My bike is set for about 1350 Rpm runing hot. Is this OK?

Can you please help me with these questions? there are not many aprilia owners in Portugal, so it is hard to share or get information in Portugal.

Thank you very much.

The oil issue isn't a problem they will push it into the airbox if to much .... it will be fine now you have it back to normal level .. the wheel should turn more than 3/4 of a turn before stopping I get at least 3 full turns + .... may pay to check if the rotors are running true by taking off your cailpers & spining the wheel without the brakes dragging on them & see how long the wheel turns for & lightly hold something just enough that it rubs on the outside of the rotor to see if there is constant contact as it spins , if it touches then doesn't it may show the rotor has warped . 13000-1500rpm is a normal setting hot ...

sounds like you may need to clean pistons and calipers. also make sure the bobbins are free to turn round. bobbins are the hollow metal discs that hold the brake disc on its centre.
