ok, ok...you have had to deal with all sorts of questions from me up to this point as well as my loosing some heart a month ago when that dealer told me some potential bogus crap to get me to purchase the 1098...please bear with me a few more questions because i have shown my wife the red lion and she is also digging it...(and that means that if she feels good about the purchase than its a shoe-in)...(a happy wife is a VERY happy husband) here are my questions?
1. anyone notice a difference in the NUMBER of people who have clutch/brake bleeding issues on the rsvr versus the factory? or is it the exact same? (i am just mentally preparing that may have to do this...and that is ok with me).
2. any hot or heating issues with the factory on the stock pipes?

thanks all...
and i look forward to posting right my pics soon

Problem with my 04 RSVR with having to bleed clutch every 800 miles ish! Southern Cross explained problems on the earlier models and I should buy a full brembo or upgrade standard clutch pump to 06 onwards.

Back brake is always ***** too, regardless of wot model :jack Front brake always been sound tho, and been thankfull on coupla occassions :devious

Hope this helps buddy :thumbup

Q. #1. There Exactly the same bikes, other than some carbon, wheels and ohlins. I'd say it's 50/50 on the clutch, some have problems, others don't, design flaw, just like the rear brake.Buuut, a semi-easy fix.
Q.#2. Slip-on's are the same again. I did notice that my stock cans were HOT after a decent little ride, probably due to all the back pressure comparded to after market, which let the bitch breath easier, faster and cooler.
my 2 coppers.

Not had a problem with my clutch but have fitted an MPL slave 'just in case', rear brake fine after bleeding it as per the service bulletin.

My legs used to roast with the stock cans, probably due to them having cats in and retaining the heat. Fine with aftermarket cans fitted

V8, the MPL clutch slave cylinder is not going to effect the clutch blead issues, all it does is ease the amount pressure needed to pull in the clutch lever due to it's bigger piston area. The problem with the clutch, is air getting trapped in the clutch master cylinder next to the clutch lever. The master cylinder should self blead itself but for some reason some master cylinders don't do this. whether it's a producton problem or design problem nobody's come up with a definitive answer. There's some fairly straight forward fixes highlighted by aprilia to cure the problem by fitting revised master cylinders and enlaged bore pipework and resevoir. However they are covered under warranty.

With regard to the exhaust cans, no they don't get too hot but they are exhaust cans so expect some heat. Fit a decent set of Akrapovic or Arrow cans and smile

the dealer is fitting leo vince cans and dyno for free for all 2008 rsvs - sounds like a good thing that i am smiling about already
