Q: changing the screen on -02 RSV

J

Jussi

Any experience?

How many of those fragile looking plastic fasteners i can brake when removing the "spring" washers from underneath....

Do i need to have a new stock on hand?

Cheers

Changed mine for an 'MRA' screen, and all the screws came out with no problems.. Give them a spray with a penetrating spray and let soak for an hour if you're worried..

Bought a cheap one (tinted) from eBay 26US delivered ;)

Hand one on my previous Suzie and was not bad at all considering the price...

Also bought K&N air filter for 50US delivered.

The buy now is too easy after couple of beers...

Jussi, a little tip. Take the nose cone off completely to fit the new screen. Takes about 10 minutes and saves an hour :thumbup

I was planning to since i replace the headlight at the same time.
These locking rivets seem to sit pretty tight...

Tried to undo one with my fingers and it was not moving at all.

just use a flathead screwdriver and walk it around the spring clips gently prying up the clip a little bit at a time until you have it completley off.

then to install you need to first bend the tabs back on the clips the easiest way I found was to bend them back gently with the same flathead screwdriver and pressing on all the little tabs individually while having the clip on a flat suface. to install the screen use a socket that is the optimum size to make pressing on the clips easier. Its just off my memory but I believe I used a size 7mm sockect to press on the clips

Oh yeah and I think I just got the same new screen you got from ebay.

Cheers mates.
When i got the screen i`ll take my time to try to change it a very gentle way...

Today changed the plugs to NGK Iridiums and boy is the fron sylinder upper spark in a ****** place took some time to change w/o removing everything around it.

My tool was too wide so I used the one provided by aprilia ;)

Changed the air fil at the same time tough to K&N

Cheers
