pull clutch into start?

Hey guys...
Should i be pulling the clutch in BEFORE i start my 03 Aprilia RSV?
I think not but a friend thinks its best to.

Some bikes have a switch that won't let you start without the clutch. My RSV doesn't have this but I'm in the habit of holding the clutch anyway. Same way I would clutch before starting a car.
I used to have a 125 that could slip back into gear after you got it into neutral hence the mistrust of neutral lights.

I can't see any mechanical reason for not doing it. Anyone?
