project RSV2

D

diabolico

hi mates... already a long time i'm away. today i came to look for news as usually and i saw a thread called rsv evolution.must say very good work, and then i thought about sharing a project that i call RSV2. to start it is my 2000 rsv,and a few months ago i thought about restore it,but then also thought about make something diferent and a kind of update,so i studied some measures from rsv4 and my rsv and decided to fit the rsv4 fairing.then i ordered rsv4 racing fairing and for my surprise, they seem to be made for the older frame. even in the rear fairing the holes that fit the frame are exactly in the same place.i have some pics to show, and is only the begining.it is just to see how to start working. i started 2 months ago,but work is taking all my time.
beside the fairing i already have a ducati 1080 oil cooler and a suzuki gsxr600 k6 radiator, everything seem to be made to fit perfect.then i will try to give a clean look,i mean hide the coils, water reservoir and some water tubes.to the engine i already have a pc3,57tb´s,06 rsv heads to be ported and valves modified, evoluzione air filter, and the 2004 complete exhaust was already fitted.
sorry the long story and some comments will be nice.during the process i will update news and pics.
thanks

Awesome mate - looks like the clocks are going to be a tight squeeze!

well, for me this is not a competition, ant i hope jester68 dont think it is. even more cause he wants to make a production of his product.
though for me is distict projects,i'm using new parts and completely diferent from the original, and his bike, from what i've seen, looks like he modified the ogirinal fairing.hope i'm not wrong.in the end mine becomes more expensive, but better looking i hope :)
about the clocks,i thought about fit one of those digital like the moto gp ones, but it is a lot of moneys,so it will be for later, and the original ones fit well. thanks

sorry my bad english :)

hi fella, i looked into using rsv4 fairing, but they were not available when i started project. so i hand built this fairing. if you need any help with any fitting problems i will be glad to help. i have been a panel beater and painter for 23 years. your ride will look sweet when finished.. jester68.

A question about the radiator being thinner... these bikes already run pretty hot (up at 90+ degrees sat in summer traffic) so surely a smaller radiator will only make this worse? Have you got any plans to help this problem?

ok... here i have new pics from my project. Everything have been anodized, painted, the steel had a zinc process...

That is going to look real sweet and up to date, just one thing though, i'm not liking the look of the dent on the right hand side of the swingarm. keep us posted with plenty of pictures, as i'm sure there are a few people watching this build.

gordy.

The swingarm as well as the frame in the future are going to be swaped. I knew the previous owner had an accident, but not so bad,the front of the frame was also fixed (i could only notice after i disassembled the yokes). I sent the frame to be analised and if perfect, but still, nothing like a good one to be perfect and safe. Then with the frame maybe i'll apply the >04 swingarm.

are those radial fork bottoms fitted to standard showa forks??..tell me more

No these a a complete 06 tuono suspension.

Thanks to all about the replies...hope soon i have it working properly.
