mate there is more to a nera than you think(not just a standard rsv with c f). it is 13kg lighter than a factory so that means yours is 28kg lighter than a standard factory?(interesting :rolleyes ). don't forget that the engine internals are totally different frame and everthing else. remember this bike was £25,000 when new(not just because of c f bodywork) . what hp are you putting out?interested as friend races factory mille in n.r.g racing series and am sure with that weight loss and power he would be amazed!!!!!
errr... i'm an official aprilia dealer, so i know very well what a nera is, thankyaverymuch... :biggrin
sorry to disappoint you, but a nera's engine in reality is 99.9% the same as standard 04 rsv.... so is the chassis, the only difference is the lighter wheels, aluminium body rear shock, the cans, and the cf fairings. 2 of my customers own a nera on which we do the maintenance and all work, so we're kind of familiar with the bikes...
the real difference on a scale here in the shop between an 04 rsv factory and an 04 nera is 8 kgs. the difference in power was 1 hp. yes, 1...
an 04 standard rsv on our fuchs dyno is 132 hp and 102 nm of torque. the nera (with standard cans)was 133 hp and 104 nm. (which is probably just due to different running in, and every engine is different). an 06-07 rsv factory on this dyno averages 136-137 hp and 107 nm. of torque. project mayhem1 on the same dyno is 172hp and 143 nm. of torque...
oh yeah, and it's not really minor mods... we spent 6 months and about 900 combined hours building it...
but a nera still is a fantastic bike, even it were just for its desirability and rareness...
