'project' - bikes

anyone ever done anything like this, or got a project ongoing,

ive managed to pick up an old slr 650, very cheap, and im thinking about turning it into a retro look scrambler, anyone got any advice or pics of ongoing projects,


from this, mine isn't so shiny :no




to something resembling this

welding and tools won't be an issue, my job's a pipefitter / welder

even luckier, ive got access to our workshop 24hrs, theres mig,tig,stick,oxy-acet, comp air and 110v up there with a whole cabinet of tools :thumbup

Fugly, sounds like a labour of love, good luck pal, im at Donnington in April with the Ape, hoping to bring it home in one piece, its my first track day with a bike, done loads with my car, but a bit nervous,

You could say that but it was my own silly fault, wet track day at Snetterton and last session of the day which had been incident free for me then wham! It was only when I saw how much 998's had gone up in value that I decided to restore it and park it in the dining room. This is a good thing as it meant me buying the Tuono.

You'll be fine at Donnington, a great circuit, enjoy yourself.
