if any one remembers the girl friends "L Plate shed honda h100s2" that would only pull intermittantly, you might be glad to know thats its fixed. Two bike shops and one mechanic, had a go and got nowhere.
One sold her a set of points and condenser for a bike with electric ignition
one sold her a plug
All three, cleaned and adjusted the carb.
one blamed the exaust and cut and shut a 100A exaust to fit
one took the baffle out and lobbed it
one cut the oil pump line and put premix in the tank.
one said the crank seals were probably shot
one told her to sell it to some poor sod and not give them a test ride
one told her because she was a learner she didnt know how to ride a two stroke and just needed to rev the bollocks off it.
Every time it came back still not running.
so with it being intermittant i got it in my head it was electrical and only had a few parts cap, lead, coil, cdi and ignitor trigger.
went for the cheapest option first, coil with lead and cap from flea bay when one eventual turned up for a fiver. and low and behold little ******* thing runs perfect pulls into the red up the very large peak district hills.
She had her first ride out on her bike since passing her cbt, with an escorted ride to her works and back stopping at the bike and hound in hyde on the way back for a shandy. And was treated to the delights of rain misted visors, 6v head lamps and unlit roads.
She's a proper biker now lol
Just a shame her image of bike shops is so tarnished now, as they all pretty much put it down to the way she was riding it. hopefully soon she can get her test done and get herself something better, but i know which shops she wont be buying it from
