procedure for filling oil

Hi I'm just looking for a bit of guidance after changing my oil and filter.

I've filled it with fresh oil, got it up to temp and went for a quick run for a few miles. I came back and it wasn't even showing in the site so I've topped it up to almost max but it hasn't dropped any now its gone cold :eek: can anyone tell me if this will be over full, I've not started it yet just incase! :thumbup
 
i would have filled it half way between min n max...then take for another run and re check
 
The correct thing to do is check it after riding for at least 10 mins. Turn engine off and check within a couple of minutes. I am fairly sure this is right, if not I'm sure someone will correct me. When at standstill for a couple of days or more the level will drop quite a lot. This is normal
