Problems with Dashboard - Can I change to an aftermarket one?

Dear All,

I am having a problem with my dashboard.

1) It shows the stand light being on, even though stand is up, Error light is blinking and the engine triangle light is one.
2) I cannot start the bike.
3) when we ran tests with the texa diagnostics, it shows that the CAM line is faulty.

I was thinking of changing it out to the translogic microdash 2, if the issue is really the dashboard. Is that possible?

And if I have to change it back to stock, does anyone have a spare one that you can sell me?

Sincerely,
Norisha

What model year is it:confused

by pass the stand switch by bridging the 2 wires at the plug where it joins the loom (left side under the tank ) as that may be the main prob?

check wiring and connectors etc for dirty contacts.

you say wont start ?

do you mean wont turn over or wont start ?

is the battery terminals and earth strap tight and clean?

id think the dash is ok and fault lies elsewhere?

immobilizers are often a cause of faults but often its the fuel pump that wont prime as its in the immobilizer circuit .

have a look here as some good pointers to common issues.

If you don't care about original or can't source one then this is another option and much much cheaper.

here's one installed on an ape

OR

You could maybe go a simpler one like the VAPOR system for road or dirt.

I spoke to my mech.

The dash board definitely needs changing as it was already faulty. (I can't see the speed as the some of the led lights are not working)

However, it seems as though I also have a faulty cam line. When the mechs tested the voltage however, they cannot find where the fault is. I really think that the main fault is the dash itself.

gspy4u, do you know of anyone who has changed their dash? Is it an easy swap? Some said that it is not easy to change the meters.

Thanks for the help guys, by the way.

Before spending any money....follow the ignition wires down untill you find the connector......that connector caused the same probs with my bike, the cambus signal goes through that conector to the dash ... i replaced it with a waterproof superseal connector found on ebay
