Hi all,

Had a bit of a nightmare with the bike starting over the weekend and looking for some advice. Here is how it come about.

Took the bike up to Brands Hatch on the Friday and parked her up outside the hotel in the evening.
Saturday morning went to start it and it wouldn't fire up :angry. Had the plugs out to dry them and was trying the full throttle start for ages until the battery was nearly dead and had to call green flag. When they turned up we hooked it up to their van battery and eventually got it going using full throttle.
At this point I decided to ride the back to Bristol and swap the bike for the van because I didn't want the same thing to happen on Sunday morning.

When I got back from Brands hatch Sunday evening she fired straight away with no problems. I am thinking that its not a problem with the battery as I keep it on an Optimate and after being nearly drained down on Saturday it still started fine Sunday evening.

I am pretty sure it is something to do with damp/moisture as it was frosty on the Saturday morning and I normally keep it garaged.
Are there any common problems with moisture getting anywhere? or where do people think the best place to start is?
Oh and the bike is a 2003 Mille.

Thanks.

Blimey, sounds like a right mission, how many miles from Brands to Bristol?

Have you done any wiring mods?

Uprated solenoid?

Did your clocks reset?

You proberbly flooded it, these don't like throttle starts. If it's cold just use the fast idle lever (choke) don't touch the throttle :thumbup

Woodsy yeh it was a mission about 160 miles each way. No not done any of the wiring mods so think I will start there and get some WD on all the connections in case any damp is getting in.

Hahaha at the clip Paul, good info tho :)

No start efi? Whats that mean.. doesn't turn over but the fuel pump keeps going when the starters pressed..
