recommendations where to get a unit fitted,i live in reading,or can you fit them your self?.cheers murf.

Spoonz,

Is it not an easy job to fit a PC3 to an RSV?

As far as I can see it's only a few connections, however I'm not to sure about that power pick up connector. Thought they had been banned 30 years ago!!!! (Mine will be soldered in place)

Once fitted all you do is pop on to the Dyno site and download the map that suits the modded state of your RSV.

I've gotta get a PC3 soon as my snatchy throttle is doing my head in.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo

What you do once fitted is get yourself to a Dyno Centre and get a custom map made for your bike. No bike is the same. so a download map is always going to be second best, and even detrimental in some cases.

pc3 are a piece of piss to fit i done one last week took about half hour its only four wires.

all you have to take of is ,two side panels, seat and lift tank.

To get the best form it it needs to be custom mapped, otherwise what is the point if you only do half a job on it, get it on a dyno:thumbup

Yep, think it will have to be a PC3 from Ebay, download the closest map I can (haven't got a clue what exhaust I have fitted) and book me a dyno set up.

Don't suppose anyone has an Akro hanging around in the garage for a 2002 RSVR?

PS. What should I be paying for a used PC3 on Flea bay?

Go and see Larry at PDQ in Maidenhead he's a sound guy.
Or you could go to Dynotech in bramley, I've heard good things about them, both aren't to far away from you.

I got a used powercommander III USB from a fellow site member :thumbup

my bike is a 04 Model .....

Had the bike ECU set to race mode ( Aprilia dealer required ). If your not prepared to do this you will need a Oxygen Sensor Controller ( cost £40 ). Otherwise the bike aint going to play ball and listen to the power commander....

I fitted the commander to the bike myself :doug it wasn't to difficult a task, i would guess its within most peoples capabilities. I changed the airbox back to standard and am running race - pipes. I then set out to download the appropriate map / maps ..... in other words i played around with maps for a while ................
I did notice a difference in the low revs when opening the throttle, certainly smoothed things out in the 30 and 40 speed zones ........

This week i took the bike to be dyno'ed and have it custom mapped
:doug:doug:doug:doug ........... :biggrin ...... what a difference, should have had one fitted and custom mapped when i got the bike :thumbup

IMHO .... don't arse around fitting it yourself ..... a custom map is the way to go at a dyno centre so they might as well fit the commander then ..... after all these guys do it for a living :thumbup

Don't think an amateur could turn out carbon like i do ..... :thumbup:dunno so i guess i aint gonna sort a power commander like the pro's.

Cost wise if your already in race mode ........... £140 to fit the commander and have a custom map made for your bike.....
