Just fitted a mivv can last week and the bike is running great. I'm just wondering if a i would benefit from having a power commander set up. If so can anyone reccomend anyone in the northwest to do the set up?

you will always benefit from a power commander, griff is in tamworth , yes i know not so north but he`s good

Totally agree. I got Griff to fit one then dyno it. Instant improvement. Supersmooth running and pickup. That 5k rev dip gone. Best mod I've ever put on.

I've done mine at home.

Bought a second hand one from t-ebay with no instructions or anything. Printed instructions off from the website. took about 20 minutes. Then another twenty before we realised the black cable goes on the negative battery terminal and not the positive one (we thought it was a power lead, told you all i was mechanically ********).

Anyway, then i got a laptop and a gash mini USB lead (from a playstation 3) connected it up and dowloaded the power commander software for free from their site. took about 10 minutes to figure out how to do it.

There's loads of sttings i didn;t know i could play with. I even chose to have full power at only 2% throttle opening but changed it back

paid 155 quid for mine. is it worth it? i dunno.

My low down throttle is very snatchy now tho since i rigged it all in. anyone got any ideas?

Forget a PC and spend you're money on Fuell.
I don't think there is mush to gain from a pc since fuelling is quite good since 2001.
Have Griff or someone else capable adjust you're bike and it will run great!!

Just my 2 cents

I'll be having some comments now !!

Could someone please advise me what lead you need to connect a PC3 to your computer?

USB plug on one end, whats sort of plug is on the other end?

I can get hold of PC3 but it doesnt have leads or software, the Powercommander site doesnt seem to sell them either. Is it just a standard lead/plug you can buy anywhere?

thanks in advance guys :thumbup

It's a mini-USB mate. I used the one from my Playstation 3. If you have one and know anyone who has one. us that.

Failing that then ebay. they're ten a penny mate.

Just going by DrRossi's advice.

i've ran mine with just a chip & with chip & pc3

The power delivery etc after having the pc mapped was second to none compared to before
also when the dyno guy says how far things were out on idle, part throttle and full chat its worthwhile to have everything spot on with it

i'll always run mine with a pc3

PC3's with a custom map will always be better than any standard chip.

Anyone who has a chance of getting hold of a cheap PC3 should do so, leads and connectors etc.... can be purchased easily from Ebay or Maplins etc.....

If you are wanting to have it Dyno'd then your going to need a USB PC3 version as not many centres have the right connectors for the old serial units.
