Hi all,

I am new to this forum as I am interested in purchasing a Tuono 1100 and would like to read what other fans have to say about the bike. I have been reading a lot recently and am pretty certain it will be the Tuono. Originally the KTM SD1290 was a contender too but I think I prefer the V4 to the V2.

One question I couldn't answer yet is the price. To all the members who have been in deeper negotiations with a dealer ... what kind of discount (or effective price) were you able to get? I guess you wont buy at full price, right? I don't need the factory, the normal 1100RR will do.

Thanks for every bit of information :)

save a bundle and buy the 1000..not a lot of difference in power and a bike that i,ve had nearly 2 yrs which constantly makes me smile.that sound is awesome .ur money ur choice..the money u save on last yrs goes towards mods i.e. 15 tooth front sprocket ,screen and of coarse an exhaust
cheers
bash

Thanks bash, a valid point which I will definitely think about. But I am still considering the 1100 too :)

I doubt they would budge on price only just come out, better off asking for a free first service.

The 1100 factory has got my attention, but to change would cost me around 9k as my 2012's price has dropped like a stone due to the new models coming out and the stock of 2014 bikes discounted to 10k.

I will still with my 2012 for another year or two :thumbup

As for the OP, I think I would be tempted to save money and go down the 2014 route, byt bear in mind that resale value will be affected by the arrival of the 1100.

I've had my 2014 model for a year now & it must be the most underrated bike ever!...I love it & I guess the 1100 must be be better right?, that engine noise with an AR pipe is unbelievable & the bike as a whole never fails to get me grinning like some simpleton ...If I could and Mrs Git would have it I would upgrade to an 1100RR in Porto Blue, gorgeous!.
The downside is the dealer network is poor & Aprilia are not known for their customer service...I see you are in Essex like me so the nearest dealer is in Suffolk

I got my 1100 factory from INMOTO in Croydon, they are an Aprilia Dealer and not to far depending on what side of Essex u live in. As mentioned I doubt you will get a deal on such a new model but its worth a try.
With regards to top end power there is not much difference but the low down grunt and midrange IS noticeably different from the 1000 and the handling is just that little bit sharper. Its more comfy to. Basically everything Aprilia have claimed in their sales hype is actually spot on, and quite refreshing as most bikes I have had in the past have failed to live upto the hype. The Tuono 1100 DOES!

I loved my 1000 and they are still awesome bikes tho so the decision is yours you cant really lose cos either way you are gonna end up with weapon of mass erection! Rob

1100 is worth it. A lot comfortable then the 1000 tuono you should definitely try north then decide but 1100 got a lot more usable power and torque!

I happened to pass On Yer Bike (Near Aylesbury) and popped in to see the 1100 factory in the flesh and there it was, good that is a gorgeous bike and was labelled up with allsorts of finance offers.

limped out wit ha hard on and a screaming visa card, god I hate being sensible :bawling
