Hi all, new member in need of a few opinions, I know this is likely to start a few arguments, but..... I'm looking for a used late model Tuono. I've ridden a Factory, but not the standard model. Apart from the obvious ohlins, do the two models differ greatly. I'm not interested in doing track days, so is the Factory more money for no improvement on the road. I'm currently riding a 955 Speed Triple. Any words of wisdom would be welcome.

Do you like gold frames ???

There are a few posts on this already. :rolleyes

If you have the cash, especially buying used, the factory makes a lot of sense - if you can go with the school kid on a sunnyD trip colour schemes.

Used about £1000 difference will get you forged wheels rather than cast, Ohlins front and rear, a few bits of carbon bling and a dodgy coloured frame. To uprate the wheels, forks and rear shock alone will cost about £1500 buying the bits used from Ebay.

The Ohlins IS better than the R model suspension, especially the rear shock, which is a POS. The Forks aren't so massively different, but once set up properly you can tell the difference, the Ohlins shod bikes are plusher, for want of a better word. The Lighter forged wheels help the bike turn more quickly, subtle, but it is there.

Carbon, well it's bling basically. :yes

It's your money & your choice, if you don't get on with the Factory colour schemes - and many don't - buy an R model upgrade the rear shock & consider revalving the forks, the rest isn't critical. The cost will be about the same.

Hi Skoda, I had a 955 sprintST a few yrs ago, and the T is more fun to ride.
I've got the r model and am happy enough with it. If I had the dosh I'd change the rear susp tho

imho buy a factory, I didn't and it always seems the **** riding the factory has a bigger grin than me.... probably he's just smug coz he's had a smoother ride than us peasants.....
