hi all am ste from sunny liverpool and i find myself hankering for a tuono but as a fairly new rider of 18 months i am a little apprehensive as to wether this bike might be too much for me i am also wondering how heavy they feel around the twisty stuff

i consider myself a decent enough rider for my experience level and would love some more power , i hear nothing but good things about the tuono and am looking on getting a test ride soon
is there any other guys on here who have got on the tuono and are fairly fresh to biking ?

thanks ste

Only you know your riding capabilities mate, so it's impossible to say if a T is too much for you.:dunno
IMO they are a very light and quick bike in the twisties, and a cracking ride full stop. If you have never had a v twin before you may find it a while getting used to the power delivery, engine braking etc, but that's the addiction of them.
It seems quite a lot of us on here are the older generation ( especially Aldo ) but that's not to say you shouldn't give one a go, and when you do, you will want one! :thumbup

mate of mine has just got himself one, lives over in huyton, think he's 50?, ex traffic plod, been riding about same as you...here's the good bit...he got an NIP on his test ride, had it pretty much flat out within the first week and has started to batter his knee sliders after them looking spotless for about 18 months!!

ha small world, alright bloke its ste with the 2013 triple r you fitted the tyre pressure monitors on
phatcat ive got a triple at the moment so pretty used to the engine breaking and torque delivery on a smaller scale!

ayup, well you've heard how much phil has fallen in love with his then i'm sure:biggrin

ste if an owld codger like me can hustle one aboot then it's gonnae be easy fir a nipper. :yes

Cheers Mr p. :bawling

BTW ste they are fookin addictive. :thumbup

I'm 36 and have only been riding for 5 years and I have just bought a Tuono APRC. It is my third ever bike. With all the electronics switched on, they can be considered a relatively safe and user friendly bike. Once you get past a certain rev range it still tries to pull you off the back of the bike as you'd expect with a litre machine... so it is a bit of a bike with dual personalities that you can access as and when it suits. Perfick!

With regards to insurance, my initial quotes were around the £800, which I got down to £300 with shopping around and a high excess (£700). I'm hoping it is just with it being a new bike as my previous bike, a Fireblade, was in the same group and cost me less to insure.
