I've just tried to change the time like adviced on the thread holding down the scroll button for 7 secs when I did this the rev count spun round to maximum, I then tried it again and the rev counter went up to max in stages.
After this I gave up and turned the bike over, but now when I give it a bit of gas the limit light flashes up(when the bike is still stationery on the stand), I hadn't noticed this before. And also now when I remove the key, the key symbol on the dash goes on and off, please can somebody help me and put my mind at rest, I dont have a manual to check if I've just buggered my pride and joy:dunno

Sounds like you've accidentally re-set the rev limit light to factory setting...I'm in a similar predicament, battery went a bit flat a couple of months ago & clocks reset to factory.....sorted rev limit light but clock refuses to set...the buttons are a bit close together under the rubber protective case.....have a breather and try again..It will work!:thumbup

Will the rev limiter reset its self boots or do I have to do something to reset it, I'm worried about the key light flashing every few secs when the key is out as well, it's a 04 factory, I'm terified of breaking something

Cheers mate, I'm now a pain in the arse on the internet, sorry everybody.

You'll need to reset the rev limit indication light to your choice usually 10000 rpm. It's not a rev limiter as such it's just a flashing light that flashes when you get to the pre determined engine revs warning you to change gear as you are nearing the red line. The flashing key light i think is just the immobiliser telling you it's activated. Get yourself a manual fella ( 2004 / 2005 RSVR and Factory ), you'll be lost without it. If it was D&K you bought the bike from, ring them up and ask for one ! also try ebay. Someone on here may have a spare one too

Cheers Legs, I feel like a right ***, I've put more threads on this forum than God knows what I love the bike but it's taking a bit of getting used to. I'll have to post another thread now to ask if anyone is selling a 04/05 Factory Manual lol

Okay...that was a challenge ( moved house three and a half weeks ago...can't find anything!) Setting redline threshold as follows:
engine off, key in & turned on
allow dashboard to go through check routine
hold down the trip/V button for at least 3 seconds, the rev counter will point at current red line setting,
you have 3 seconds to change setting as desired
Use the + button to change setting, press briefly to increase setting by 100rpm, hold down a bit longer to change by 1000rpm.
3 seconds after the last pressing of the + button the new red line threshold is stored.
This should be confirmed by the red line light coming on for 3 seconds while the pointer goes back to zero.

Hope that helps!!!

That's why these forums are so good, they are a mine of information. Use it to your advantage fella. Ask away :thumbup

I seem to remember there is a thread on here somewhere taking you to the Aprilia site & you can download the manual for free (it's a big bugger so may take some time!).....Don't worry about anything, this is what the RSVZONE is for!!!
Cheers:biggrin

Cheers Newboots your a god send, thats just worked, so the rev light is set at 10000, I'm really sorry for messing you around like that mate. I dont suppose it says anything about the key light flashing when it's turned off and the key is out, I dont recal it flashing before :dunno. Thanks again Newboots, and legs you may regret telling me to ask away:thumbup

Cheers mate thankyou very much, and everybody else thats given me advice dont know what I'd do with out ya:thumbup:thumbup:biggrin

Don't fret mate, no worries...Legs is right, the key is the alarm/immobiliser indicator....I've got that and a seperate red light from aftermarket unit that almost flash in unison to tell me the immobiliser/alarm is on.....fairly obvious when I try to start it though!!!:biggrin

:thumbup lol If anyone is interested, the key symbol does flash if you have an imoboliser fitted to the bike when it is turned off as a deterent, this will siece to falsh after turn days without been run up as a battery save mode.:thumbup Also to set the time on the clock the + and - must be held down together for three seconds the hours will then flash scroll up and down with the + and - buttons to change the mins hold both buttons again and the mins should flash lol, that nearly sounded as if I knew what I was on about :doug thanks again fellas.
