Have been out for my first ride today since picking my 07 factory up last Sunday and noticed the red triangle warning light was staying on and the word "SERVICE" was showing in the bottom section of the dash. Bike seemed to be running well but didn't want to take any chances so decided I best get back (only been out bloody 10 mins!):no
I have run the ECU diagnostics check and saw the following:

P-code 0616
A-code 50

Any ideas as to what the problem is?:banghead

Not 100% sure but it could be a weak battery. First thing is to test it. Put a meter on the battery and see what happens when you press the start button. Report back.

Weeksy was good at this stuff.

Thanks for the info Dynamo, I may have to bite the bullet and take it to my local dealer to sort but they will charge a fortune just to cast their eyes over it, let alone do any bloody work on it.

Tony,

Read this:

Does sound starter relay related as stated.

Other info:

2004 Aprilia RSVR and RSVR Factory

Resetting the service light

2004 RSV1000R, RSV1000 Factory * Siemans/VDO Fuel Injection

1. Turn the ignition key on.

2. Depress and Hold the + and * buttons for at least 15 seconds

3. Turn off the ignition key.

Cited from here: P codes are ghost codes generated by a poor connection usually on a sensor or module on the can bus.

The P means it not recognised by the ecu fault list.
