pirelli diablo supercorsa

P

pointer rsv

doe's any one know what the compounds are ie

sc1=:dunno

sc0=:dunno

sc2=:dunno

thanks for any info:thumbup

Sc2 soft very good for track days and can be ridden on the road
sc1 very soft fast group trackdays
sc0 super super soft. Fast group/racing and will only last a day or two on track days. Do a session with an SC0 then press your thumb into the tyre when you get back to the pits. They're so soft you will leave you're fingerprint in the tread

There's also an SC3 (medium) compound, and IIUC the new BSB compound is aimed at road use (=hard?).

I just got a set pireill corsa from busters £154 sqid hope they are ok

confused can all be road use=:dunno

All can be used on the road as they are road legal. However you will not get any benefit out of using say an sc0 or sc1 on the road as you just won't get enough heat into them And they'll wear out really fast. For road use and occasional trackday your better off with a harder compound as they'll last longer & they're safer on the road as thell reach the optimum temperature.

Certainly got enough temp into my SC1's in summer..wouldnt even think about going out now though.....got a good 2k out of the rear as well!

In an attempt to avoid heresay (and to provide myself with a note for reference), I've put together the following collage from the Pirelli & Metzeler sites. HTH
PirelliMetzelerCompounds-2009.jpg

From which I draw the following conclusions:
  • SC1 = K0 = Supersoft (racing)
  • SC2 = K1 = Soft (racing)
  • SC3 = K2 = Medium (racing)
  • SP/BSB = K3 = Street legal
(BTW, Pirelli seem to have dropped the 'BSB' label on the Diablo SuperCorsa, preferring 'SP' instead.)

How much does a set cost in the UK? To compare if we get them cheap, here its around 270eur a set for diablo superbike if you look a little.
