pilot power 2 ct 190 55 `s

Changed my rubbers from dunlop sportsmarts to pilot powers 2ct the other day and went from the 190 50 to the 190 55 profile .

Happy days , tis like a different machine . can do some serious lean angles with the michelins and were shitloads cheaper than the excellent but expensive dunnis.

Only slight downside is the bike feels like it`s geared for 200 mph now :dunno

Got them fitted for £ 220 the pair !! mega impressed with them :thumbup

Although it might feel like a big difference in speed due to the extra tyre circumference it actually results in a very small difference.

Assuming standard gearing:

@ 8000 rpm in 4th gear 190/50 gives 112mph and 190/55 gives 115mph
@ 8000 rpm in 6th gear 190/50 gives 138mph and 190/55 gives 142mph

Ye, not much difference there at all , feels like more Rob. Suppose what makes it more obvious is the diameter of an old shagged 50 and a brand new 55 ?

Anyway it`s 55`s all the way for me from now on :doug

Yes that would make a small additional difference but I can't see it being much.

Do you use standard size sprockets?

You could always go up a bit on the rear if the change in gearing due to the tyre size really pisses you off.

Have you seen this site...http://www.gearingcommander.com/

It allows you to work it all out.

Am pretty ok with the gearing , the way the bike now handles is what i was really after ....that and saving about £60 - £70 :thumbup
