Pictures of Bikes and Snow

D

OK, I am looking out of my window and looking at what is outside then riding is a no goer. However has anyone got any pictures of their bikes in snow, or any snow related stories?

I have nowt but admiration for anyone who rides through winter, but it aint for me I am afraid.

So post your snow piccy's and stories.

I remember seeing a piccy on here recently of a mille outside a tent covered in snow LOL

and Yes I am bored at work.

Obviously AJ (AusRSV) you can exclude yourself unless you have some good barbe bike pics!!!

I used to commute on a bike 45 miles each way when i was younger.

Rode to work in snow once and the stretch from Billinshurst to Loxwood in Sussex which some might know had a camber to the rode and i went about 10miles solid with the bike constantly sideways due to the camber. Probably looked impressive but felt horrible.

The legs were flailing at times when it got a bit slappy on me. Also had to stop and bury my gloves in the exhaust for 5 mins because they had frozen as had my breath on the neck warmer.
Now i'm a fair weather rider generally. I've done enough winters to last me a life time in the past.

Found it, Was a cold ride home to Lincoln from Brands I`ll be telling ya

Heated grips and handlbar muffs :lookaround...:dunno

Nah Fuckthat

Ive done 6 years of all year round riding

No fun at all to me, i remember having to put my gloves over the silencer to defreeze them.

Riding everyday to and from work, gym etc..... been no problem till this week when the white stuff arrived......fecking freezing hands!! Thinking about getting heated wraps as don't like the grips!! main roads are ok (ish) but the a and b roads i have to ride to get to them are "fun"!!

Couple of Rossi'esque slides leaving 2 roundabouts on the way home tonight.....looked the bollocks no doubt but was shiting myself!!!

Get some pics tomorrow of the Triple just before i leave for nightshift........:thumbup

I used to say to my mates, stop being a fair weather biker. riding in all conditions makes you a better rider. well it does but you are also an *****. been riding all year round for about 6 years now and still trying to get a car for the winter.

About 3-4 years back we had some good snow in wiltshire. My bike at the time a GSXR750ws was in the shop for repairs (spent most of its time in the shop with crap carbs. funny that dealer is my local aprilia dealer. bugger!) anyways, I had a loan bike, Suzuki SV1000. great for wheels.
Went to finish work at 5 and everywhere had snow. Thought, bugger it. time to learn to ride in the snow. got to the end of the industrial estate and pulled in. had a *** and thought, bugger this. leave the bike abd walk home. then I saw a guy a busa riding in the snow like it was all sunny! right then, if he can do it so can I!
Off I set on my 20 minute trip (took 2.5 hours lol)
the best part was going over the railway bridge. its steep. normally get some good air on it but today it took me about 5 goes at getting up it.

The next day I took the loan bike back. the guy in the shop said. what the F have you been doing to the tyre! the rear tyre was scratched to bugger from all the wheel spinning in the snow.

Haven't riden in the snow since and dont want to.
Freezing fog is a bugger too! that was my trip to York at 5am in the morning and almost dropped my TL within 5 minutes of leaving my house and I had a strip of clear visor about 1.5cm high and 6cm long where I kept wiping it with the glove.

I looked like a snowman with all the frost on me when I stopped at the services. Had some strange looks. O the good old days. who needs dry roads and sun to have fun. well it helps

Handlebar muffs

I wouldnt leave the garage :devious

Its ok i work nights so ill be secretly muffin it without a trace :devious heated grips and bar muffs on me winter hack :doug heaven ..they do look stupid but warm hands and no wind chill helps a lot through the coldest months :eatcorn
