rsv 1000r factory 2009 how many miles should you get before the warning light comes on when i had the bike i only got 85 miles then when i had the first service it now comes on at 100 miles

Mate it all depends on how spirited you are riding. I have had the fuel light come on at 90 miles before, but generally it doesn't rear its ugly head until somewhere between 110-120 miles.

On a motorway at a steady 80 i've gone 130+ before the light comes on.
Either way when the light comes on I fill up pretty much straight away and can only fit 14 litres in the beast. I once did 30 miles with the light on constant and was starting to sweat. When i filled her up i still only managed to get 15 .5 litres in it. I reckon on a motorway i could go 170 miles between fill ups. On my favourite country roads it would be 140miles between fills.

the average normally works out to be around the 100-130 mark

Mine currently does 72miles to the light

how come you only get 72 to a gall i thougt 85 was low is that hard riding i thougt my light come on to early which would mean you would have more than 4ltrs left have to check when i fill up time

at the start of year i had my bike mapped and was running about 105-110 till light

In august i had my valve clearnces done, adjusted & retimed
had tbs balanced
and since get 72 to light

just havent had chance to put it back on dyno for remap

The fuel light is really a pain, I when with Jaquese-nasi on the poison rally this weekend and filled up 4 times, he has the 2002 model and only filled up 2 times.I average about 120-140 Km per tank then the fuel light comes on and I refill and he gets 260 Km per tank.

That is just unfair :rant

Think my fuel light might be faulty
