permanent socket for sat nav & optimate - where?

For my T2 I have bought a fused socket with about 1m of cable. This will hopefully allow me to plug in sat nav (yeah ok I can't ride and read a feckin map ok?! Shhhhhes ... GIMME A BREAK ALREADY) when riding ... and plug the optimate when back in beddy bos

Do any of you fine fellows have experience of this?

The socket is a bulk head type and I cant find anywhere to drill a 28mm hole discretely. Obs I could leave it dangly instead of drilling anything and if it was purely for the charger it could live happily under the pillion cover but ..... if I tuck it under there ... when I want to run the sat nav, it's wire will run from bars-end to arse-end (alliteration there Pikey by the way) and look ****

I thought about having it up the front end run from battery ... along under side pods ... and have socket under the plaggy bit above radiator / under tank but fixing it would look ****.

If I can't find a suitable answer I will ask Griff to do "something" when I take it for spring service.

The easiest way is probably to make your own mounting plate up and fit it wherever feels best for your needs.

What make is the satnav matey ?

It's a Tomtom One which a mate gave me in payment for a days work I did about 5 years ago. Back then it was pretty cool I guess? It says "bluetooth" on the bottom so I am hoping my 16 year old daughter can help me set it up so Tomtom words come out my Blackberry ear plug. The battery only lasts about 90 mins so its nfg for a day out hence the requirement for a permanent socket.

Ive also bought

So I can mount it properly.
