my air filter kit from Tash came today fitted it and took the bike for a quick spin didnt get to stupid speeds only done about 15 miles on it dont know if its me but the bike seems smother all through the rev range cant wait for the weather to pick up so i can give it a good blast:thumbup

Good to hear your happy mate, did you like the addictive induction noise?

Cheers
Mark

ye i did mark thats why i took it for a spin sounds good thanks pal

didnt take any pics sorry mark can lift the tank and take some if anybody needs a pic

Gen 1 kits are £150 delivered in carbon or £125 delivered in kevlar, pm me if you want one mate and I will sort it for you. Here are a couple of pics of the Gen 1.

got one on my gen 2 and its reduced my fuel consumption by at least 10mpg.....

coz its sounds so awesome when its on full chat

Ahv got one o Tash loons kits on ma Gen 2. Combined wi the MIvvs its a hell o a sound!

The mair open filter allows the engine tae spin up mair freely, particularly wi open aftermarket cans. Ah nticed aboot a 300-400 rpm drop for a given spped efter fittin it. Which means the engines nae havin tae work sae hard cos its breathin better.

A bit like u if yer nose wiz blocked up!

Gen 2 set up. Ah did a thread on fittin it somewhere a whiley back.

the sound is addictive but you will NEVER alter the rev/speed ratio by fitting an airfilter, sorry, 1 turn of the crank will always move the bike by a set amount, you could change it with changing a sprocket and altering the final drive ratio but never by changing an airfilter
but every tuono needs one of these

gotta disagree wi ye there CTD...the facts are there in front o me every time ah ride mah T.

When ah changed the sprockets tae 15/42 the revs increased by aboot 500 rpm for a given spped....but when ah fitted the air filter kit ie removing the restrictive standard air box the revs dropped back doon a bit.....

its awe aboot the engine nae havin tae work so hard to produce the same speed.

ah agree wi the physics o whit yer sayin but dinnae confuse the distance travelled wi the speed ye get there

your clutch must have been slipping, i used to do a lot of drag racing and high speed events and the only thing that will change the rev/speed ratio is changing gear or changing sprockets
as Scotty would say 'you canny change the laws of physics' sorry

Dead on mate.. Have one in the pipeline atm for about half that second hand of course .. If that doesn't pan out though I'll be giving you a shout.. How much is a replacement filter for them mate? Will be needing one if I get this second hand kit

Dinnae be daft min...ah ken a slippin clutch when ah see one.....

...its kindo like the concept o ram air and turbochargin is it no...if ye can shove mair fuel/air mixture thru per revolution then ye gain power so kin go faster for same engine effort. So if ye flip that idea roond a bitty, tae achieve the same speed ye need tae work less if yer shovin mair fuel air e.g. let the engine breath easier wi free flowin air

Ahm mibbe nae as technically minded as u are an mibbe nae explainin it right but anyroads ah know whit ahv seen an there is a definite change..so ah guess we will jist hae tae agree tae differ.

wrong sorry
one rev of the back wheel will move the bike down the road the circumference of the tyre, on a 17inch rear wheel approx 1.88meters
the gear box is connected to the rear wheel by the sprockets, they haven't changed
the gearbox is connected to the crank by the clutch, as long as that isn't slipping then that hasn't changed
the crank will spin at any speed you want dependent of your wrist
BUT
ONE REVOLUTION OF THE CRANK WILL MOVE THE BIKE A SET ANOUNT OF DISTANCE DEPENDING ON THE GEAR RATIO, you could change the filter, fuel ratio or even push the bloody thing down the road but the rev/speed ratio will never change, it is literally set in steel

Do you need to change fueling on a gen1, if filter system fitted, or does ecu do that? ps Im with CTD, raced all types of vehicles & only gearing changes wheel revs to engine revs...Oh ****, do I really want to get involved...

well Ive just got back from a Cornish Pasty run with Zuki and i turned cold hard cash in to wonderful noise coming up through the tank, the filter kits are (imho) a must, forget earplugs just listen to the music of a Vee twin
