Perfectly happy with 16 teeth but

Well apart from the improved acceleration, the bike is a lot smoother at lower speeds,i.e thru town.

I just need an excuse to get in me lab and out of the way of the soaps really. Is it gonna be wheelieng? all the time, don't want that. Front tyres hardly worn as it is and I'm on my third rear.

Do it mucker and if yer don't like it go back to the 16t.

I'll bet yer don't change back.

Are you still running 16:40? If so you're in for a revelation Nobby

Get in the lab and change to 15:42 ASAP

is the drop o 1 tooth only oan the front that noticable wi oot goin up tae 42 oan the front? Wiz toyin wi the 15/42 as ahm awa tae replace chainset soon....

Might do it Thursday when the double episodes are on.

Back AND front eyy. You trying to get me buying a gold chain/sprok Russ ???

15/41 on the Foono and thats pretty tame compared to the T standard set up.

i went 15/40 ... couldnt tell difference ..
15/42 was a different story ..just felt better round town and stuff , but back sprocket is a ******* to change without a vice .....

I had 15/40 on mine when I bought it and after about 9 months or so I changed to a 42 rear.

The first thing you'll notice (as you pull away from your house - urban riding - is that there's a little more 'pull'. Then you'll notice that it revs higher for any given speed/gear. Once you're on the open road you'll notice the real difference - it'll be much more responsive and lighter at the front. Will it wheelie everywhere? I think that depends on the type of rider you are. If you're inclined to wheelie anyway, then yes, it will wheelie big time. If like me, you're more reserved and don't actually particularly like wheelies (but like the front being a bit flighty and love gassing it away from bends!) then I honestly don't think you'll have a problem keeping the front down, just be aware that it's more likely to wheelie than before.

Mind you, I haven't tried it on track yet...! :crazy

but back sprocket is a ******* to change without a vice .....

I didn't have this problem...:dunno I found it an easy swap really, just make sure you put all the bits (spacers etc) back the same way they came out!

15t front and map 2 made my R a lot smoother round town. Waiting to do the rear 40-42 but only cos Im tight and Ive got 3 lots of bloody road tax n insurance this month! :(

I don't even know whats on mine and I can't be arsed counting them. Mine doesn't seem to want to wheelie all the time though so I guess I might have a 40 tooth on. Think I'll change to 15 / 42 when I need any work done to the bike. Quite like it a bit flighty.

Do it Nob, just do it. If you dont like it go back. Bet you dont. Had my T for what two weeks, done already and can def tell the difference. Thing is I dont wheely but do love the instant response in 2nd and 3rd as well as pulls hard when on highway. Almost no need to downshift for a pass but fun if you do. Seems like I dont hunt for proper gear in town either.

I just want a nice big gold chain for my bike so I'll do it after the summer season when its off the road and on the paddock stands.

Nah, don't bother. It's over rated all this having fun anyway.

On track hard on the gas with 15/42 it picks the front up in first, second and little bit in third, but it's not out of control, it just feels right

**** it, the whole hog. 15/42 it is. Powder coat the wheels gold/black. Titanium/goldy colour Renthal sprock and chain. Black bolts accordingly.
