Peak power?

Can anyone tell me at what rpm the bike is producing peak power?. The reason i ask is i want to set my rev limiter warning light to around this point, to stop revving the bike when it makes no difference and i would be better changing up.

At the moment its set to 9500.

Thanks

For my 2007, it peaks at 10,250. I set at 9,500. It tapers off rather sharply as the rev limiter kicks in, couldn't really say why....:bigsmile

Peak power comes in at around 9500 RPM on mine (2001 RSV) with torque (oomph in laymens terms) fading some 1500 - 2000 RPM sooner than peak power.

I have my rev limiter set to 10500 RPM as I don't want to impede any chance I may have of ringing out some additional power past 9500 RPM.

Mine is modded and has a PC3 fitted with a 15 tooth front sprocket.

Makes for fun riding.

my best bet would be to leave it as it is, Thanks for the info guys:thumbup

Have you noticed a big change in the fueling efficiency with your PC3, what other benifits are there to be had with them?

Yes, im thinking of treating myself! :biggrin

A big DO IT!! buddy........No real kick in the arse power hike or anything just SO much smoother power delivery all through the rev range. Did add 7 hp and 9!! lb/ft torque aswell!! Biggest improvement was air/feul mixture, almost bang on throughout the range......top bit of kit........:thumbup

cheers for the info Andy mate! Im thinking of getting one of hooked's performance airbox kits once hes made/designed some for the new shape milies, would you say its even more nessesary to have a PC with a modified airbox? The other thing is, im guessing i would need a PC3 for my bike?

I must admit i didnt plan on spending all this money on the bike when i brought it, talk about addictive :eatcorn

No worries buddy!! I wouldn't say "neccessary" for an airbox mod BUT it does make a difference buddy, not only in more power but "THAT NOISE"!! Honestly bud, worth it for the noise alone!!!

As for PC's....you definately need the PC111 (USB) model as alot, if not all tuners, don't have the old seriel type software anymore. Plus with the USB model PC111 the adjustments to the fuelling can be altered every 250 rpm's as opposed to 500 on thebolder type PC111................:thumbup

Right! Thanks mate.

Now all i gotta do is find somewhere that sells them fairly cheaply. Cheapest ive found so far is on ebay for £246 new.

Might be best buying 2nd hand and just keeping an eye out.

Yeah, as Andi says - power delivery is spot on and it is just generally has a nicer response to throttle changes.

If your getting one of Hooked's air box kits then the PC3 USB is a must as it will enable you to gain the maximum power out of the engine.

Don't get me wrong, you don't need the PC3 but the two together will be awesome.
