Just wondering if there are any benefits on fitting a pc3 if the bike is standard.
Better mileage maybe?
More power?

No pc III is a fuel management it a separate piece of kit
A chip can control basic fueling and ignition as it plugs into the ecu

Its the dogs danglies m8, gives you control of fueling so if you ever wanted to buy cans, quickshifters or air filters you can easily download a map or take it to someone with a dyno and they can sort the fueling which all adds up to very much improved throttle feel and sometimes more millege but it depends on wot you do to your bike....

I think what he's asking is on a 100% stock bike, is it worth installing a pc3?
IMO for the money a PC3 costs I would say no. The tune from the factory is decent and all you really need in factory form is to get the bike deristricted if it isn't already, that will get you a few more ponies.

On the other hand, if you plan on modding the bike somewhere down the road (even just a slip-on) and can get one on the cheap, go for it. I don't believe the PC website currently has a map for a stock bike, but once you've installed the PC3 you'll want to throw all kinds of kit at it. :devious

I run a PC3 usb currently on my 01' and it's been very good to me. I'm running the factory race twin akra system, hooked airbox, and stage 2 factory race heads with a mild port and polish....made 132whp with the PC3 on a dyno, so I'm always smiling when I twist the wrist. :devious:devious

That sounds like a very nicely set up gen 1 m8 congrats pity your on the other side of the pond i would have loved to see it in the flesh, you don't happen to have any videos of your ape do you? on some bikes i know just adding a pc3 can make a difference to the bike because manufacturers play things safe with the fueling on stock bikes but i don't know if this is true with the aprilia.:thumbup:biggrin
