New to Aprilia so I was just wondering about parts availability? Purchased new so I hope I don't have an immediate need. Maybe just for maintaining purposes. I know it might take a little extra if I need because of my location. Thanks

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahaha

Absolutely *****.

Waited several months on a gearbox part and ended up sourcing in myself from America.

Needed a new stator. Not a single one in the UK so got my fried one rewound.

Upgraded the stator / flywheel to the latest version as the old one fries itself. Waited a month for that as guess what? none in the UK.

Aprilia are great bikes, but customer service and back up are the worst I have ever come across.

I get the distinct impression that Aprilia don't give a **** about their customers.

Local dealers etc are great in most cases, but their hands are tied by Aprilia's lack of part availability or willingness to do anything about it.

I'm not really getting the warm fuzzy feeling about the bike with all the horror stories I've been reading. I do know that I really want it. I've ridden all Japanese bikes up until now. Just a little cautious I guess.

Mate, In general the later models are a great bike. You may get a couple of small issues that should be dealer fixable, but on the whole they are a bullet proof item. Just ride it and enjoy it. Don't look for stuff that's not there, or you'll manufacture it in your head and find it.

Yeah, exactly wot Beagle said! Tuono Factories have been in production a good time, and like any vehicle manufacturer Aprilia have worked on reducing failure rates of the most vulnerable parts (which weren't too many)... so you should be good to go. Just enjoy it, cos you've got a great bike to be enjoyed!!
