Hi there,

I have a 2002 RSV Mille R which I have taken all the stickers off and am now wanting to get it painted and have been having difficulty in deciding which way to go,
I have had a look at the winners of ROTM and nothing has me wanting to do similar so am asking if anyone has seen pictures else where of a paint sheme that looks good or think that there's is great and am willing to post pictures to help me, as i'm getting desperate and inpatient now

Thanks

You must have an idea of what you want though........Race rep paint scheme ? ......newer bike scheme ? ....... all one colour ?

It is a hard thing to decide what you want ive had this with my last 2 bikes

I had a zx6r track bike for 5 years in green and purple and was sick of green, but I had to either paint it in a colour which was significant to kawasaki or something totally different

So I painted it pearlescent white and made up my own scheme, not everyones cup of tea but when I came to sell it in white it went the first week

For some reason when it came to my 08 factory I just knew I was going to paint in Alitalia colours and I feel its turned out well

For the 02 rsv the colour that sticks in my mind is black with red acsents and red or gold wheels. The haga rep in another post here looked good

Going for a race rep colour tends to date the bike quickly so a more stock look may be nicer for an 02

Thats a nice paint scheme matey on that zx6 ... not into white but that does look good :thumbup

Replying to what i'm looking for is difficult. I thought I wanted a race rep at first, the right year to match the age of the bike, but have seen some done and didn't think they looked great and as dynamo said they can date quickly.
I like the later Aprilia paint schemes on some of the RSVR from around 2007 to when they ended and some of the simplier designs of the RSV4 also look good but am worried there going to look crap if I tried to put them on a older RSV. In MCN this week they have included a show guide & on page 14 there is a RSV4 which has the Italian flag colours on the belly pan (quite discreet) and the rest in gloss black with touches of red which looks great but what about of an 02 RSV? Maybe i'll just have to stop whinging and just get it done.

don't even have to be a bike livery. I've done a famous car one, and seen a good martini, and a good jps bike recently. If you can't think of anything just pick some colours you like that go together and either have a stripe or something to break it up.

Do Not have Gulf colours cos I will not be happy and Griff may refuse to work on your bike lol

Basic Stealth.
Every sticker I put on ( Including the RSV Mille decal ) I took of
straight away .. ( Now even the tank Decals are gone ).
Bottom line is - I know what sort of bike I ride - I know what sorta oil I use - Etc etc ...
And I don't give a **** who else knows. Gimme Stealth !!

I'm always a little bemused by these sort of posts "design me a paint scheme" It makes me think the only reason its being done is so everyone will go wow look at you!!! So is the owner doing it for recognition or for themselves!? Now don't get me wrong I have about 10 different ideas going around in my head for my bikes and I'll end up posting the end result on here and few other places (because we all like people to like what we've done right!).

Don't think I'm knocking the posts but you have to do something for "you" first which as Daz has said above you know what you have so you need to decide what it is you want to achieve or what statement you are trying to make - if someone else designs your bike, people may say wow look at you ........... but ............... and its a BIG but ................ what if after a day ....... week .... month ...... year (you get the idea) you walk into the garage and look at it and think to yourself ...... **** I hate that!!!! (now its only paint and can be redone as many times as you want) Do it for yourself, which means look at what you like in everyday life, what designs you like and then work from there, there's a thread (which I'm guessing this thread has been borne from where a rather tasty looking retro has been created, now from what it appears to me is that the guy (howdy innit ;) ) has seen the design and gone hey I really like that and that will look fantastic on my bike ............. he has decided the design is for him and it looks awesome imo, but there are other designs I've seen that I'm not keen on at all ... but again thats imo and this where you have to like it first!!.

A long post that may well just be the rambleings of an aging (NOT OLD!!!!!!!! ;) ) gimmer

Deacs :thumbup
