Anyone recommend a good set of (reasonably priced) paddock stands suitable for the T?
Nice and sturdy and easy to use please :T
(There are so many to choose from :banghead)

a re-curring question Foggy min.....

.....ah use a humble set o cheapie Motrax stands that mair than dae the job fur me..... 40 odd ish quid sort o deal for front an rear .....

.. then theres them wi thir fancy alloy light weight designer ones or Abba doodahs that are well rated but dearer...so its awe doon tae yer budget and whit ye need oot them as they awe pretty much dae the same job.

So wot yer gettin for the extra dosh with the dearer ones then?
Sounds like the cheaper ones are OK if they do the job for you Rico?

The ones that are bolted together can loosen up leaving" Big T " on the floor.

There are some red one piece ones around

Abba, voo le voo ha ha your T will never fall off haha voo le vooooooooo

Get onto ebay, mine cost £28 delivered (from Germany) back and front, good bit of kit and dead easy to use.

I bought an Abba at the NEC and I love it ... but as the weather is good the bikes on its side stand all the time anyways

Mine lives on the Abba stand in the garage ALWAYS. Having had bikes with centre stands for 20+ years (before they became the preserve of tourers and commuter bikes) it somehow feels wrong to leave a bike on the sidestand for any length of time.

I've got an Abba stand. Its brilliant but does'nt fit with the Yankee sidestand.:noI;ve also got an FG special parts stand I bought for my Duke 851.Its a really solid stand and its identical to the official 'Prilla one.Fits on the T bobbins a treat.
The cheap stands are ok for occasional use but get wobbly with age.
The Harris stands are not cheap, but they are works of art.:drool

I have an ABBA stand, which is great for some jobs, but for quick and easy cleaning, chain tensioning, tyre inflation etc I use the Motrax cheapo version of the Harris aluminium stands. Both bikes sat on them all through winter - actually Liz's bike still hasn't moved off it's stand since September - so they are plenty strong enough.
Demon tweeks have a bit of an offer on the go at the minute.

Got both an Abba stand, and a set of cheapies from Busters (approx £40 pair plus hooks).
I'll use the chaepies everytime, due to speed. The only time the abba comes out, is on any suspension work.
The cheapies are rock solid when used as a pair, and the rear is perfectly fine when lubing/working the chain.

All I would suggest, is get yourself some bobbins - and then set the hooks on the stand rigid. This means it'll be a piece of p*ss to align the stand and raise the bike on your own.

Hope this helps...
:)

Newelly, it's not the stands it's the pop you drink LOL, mine stands were off ebay and 6 months on, with a good amount of use, they are still fine.
I couldn't see the point of paying a lot of money for a jewel, form/function over fashion for me I'm afraid.
