Hi all
p-0616 A-50
I know this one has bounced around a lot , someone mentioned that it had been caused by an alarm wire (maybe a META ) that had been incorrectly wired to the the wrong side of the starter relay, I am guessing that is what inhibits starting when the alarm is on, I was thinking I might track down that relay and disconnect any non standard wire from it hoping it get rid of the SERVICE message. probably not important anyway as it has an immobilisor. I have charged the battery and it seems to check out , no red lights on the optimate. Am I right in thinking the starter relay is on the lh side of the bike near the battery??
As the bike is new to me I need to see the trip just in case the low fuel light doesn't work - don't want to get stranded this weekend with the m'rs on the back.
I reckon that wire would be attached to either 85 or 86 (old school designations I know ) one being earth and the other switching live , it would make sense for the diagnostics to recognise that from ign on and bring up SERVICE immediatley sort of convinced myself thats whats doing it :yes
Don't have any info on the alarm that is fitted, I have one older used greyish one and a newer one in blue both have META written on them.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated :thumbup
